Delphinorhyncus of Breda
Delphinus Bredanensis
An eight-foot dolphin distinguished by a head whose profile passes insensibly into the snout without a distinct break, with an elevated central dorsal fin, scythe-shaped pectorals and a crescent tail. Sooty black above and a rich rosy hue below, the junction irregular with many small black patches upon the fairer colour, it bears eighty-four to ninety-two teeth and appears to inhabit the Atlantic, one being stranded at Brest.
