Sea-Bear

This Sea-Bear, drawn from a specimen in the British Museum, differs considerably from the figured Sea-Bears of both the northern and southern regions, though a marked similarity exists among their delineations. So many distinct seals pass under the name of Sea-Bear that confusion is unavoidable, and of the habitat and habits of this particular otary nothing whatever is known, the naturalist here still groping in the dark.
