Polyneura ducalis and Anatomy of Cicada atrata and Pentatoma rufipes

This beautiful cicada has a black head with two minute buff spots over the antennae, a thorax broader than the head and angled at each side, black with yellow margins, and a black body with scarlet thighs. The anterior wings are chocolate brown, darkest at the base, with rich golden-yellow costa and veins forming numerous irregular cells, the hinder wings dull buff-ochre; it came from General Hardwicke’s Nepaul collection and seems to exist nowhere else.
