Saturnia Isis

A magnificent African Saturnia near six inches across, the very pale grey anterior wings covered with fine black and brown hairs, marked with an oval vitreous spot, dentate fasciae, and dark speckled compartments toward the apex. The hind wings bear a most magnificent eye-like spot ringed in fulvous, black, clay, flesh, and rich claret; the underside is paler and far less brilliant, the thorax rich brown with white neck-bands.
