Long-Toed Spinous Rat

Echimys dactilinus

The back of this rat is covered with short spines partly concealed by the hair, and the two middle toes of the fore feet are very long. Its colour is brown, and it inhabits South America, ranking among kindred genera such as Petromys and Nelomys.
