Lilies & Roses of P.J. Redouté

Digital edition of two of Pierre-Joseph Redouté’s stunning collections of lilies and roses between 1802 and 1833

Two of Redouté’s most famous works—Les Liliacées and Les Roses—comprising hundreds of masterpieces of botanical art, were restored and reproduced in this digital edition.

Over the course of nearly a year, 655 illustrations were lovingly restored to its original vibrancy from high resolution scans. Each illustration was made available on both light and dark backgrounds that make the colors jump off the screen. Every image was carefully restored by hand to ensure all of Redouté’s fine details were preserved and presented in the highest quality possible.

Posters were created showcasing flowers of every lily or rose Redouté illustrated, arranged in colorful collages and include names for easy identification. Flowers and their names were individually arranged by hand set against a backdrop of subtle collages of their respective leaves.
