Generic characters.
Male.—Bill unusually large, rather arched, and much longer than the head; wings ample; tail moderate and rounded; tarsi partly clothed; feet moderate; throat and breast luminous.
Female.—Unadorned.
Three outer tail-feathers tipped with white in both sexes.
