Arpidea Chorinæa
A new genus assigned for an insect too peculiar to place elsewhere, nearest to Satyrus Philoctetes, the forewing costa much arched, the margins falcate, and the hindwing bearing a broad obtuse oblique tail. The surface is deep brown with a wide fulvous sinuated forewing band, yellowish costa, and a round white apical spot; beneath it is light brown and ash with dark waved lines, while the reddish caterpillar feeds on sugar-cane and the insect is native to Surinam.
