Callidryas Eubule & Terias Mexicana

1. Callidryas Eubule. Closely resembling C. Marcellina, the male has fine citron-yellow wings with a deeper narrow border and rust-coloured fringe-spots, beneath reddish or brownish-yellow with ferruginous and silvery-centred discoidal spots and undulating brown lines. The female is bright yellow inclining to orange with a brown-striped fringe, the body yellow with greenish thoracic hairs; the green black-granuled caterpillar feeds on Cassia, and the butterfly is very common in Guiana, Brazil, and other parts of America.
2. Terias Mexicana. Discovered not long since in Mexico and reckoned rare, its surface is very bright citron-yellow, the forewings with a broad black border ending in a quadrangular expansion, the hindwings prolonged into a rudimentary tail and broadly bordered black in front. Beneath the wings are pale citron-yellow with central black points and ferruginous speckling, the female whitish-yellow with a broader border; the expansion varies from twenty to twenty-three lines.
