Blue-Cheeked Bee-Eater
Merops Savigni
A Senegal bee-eater whose upper plumage is uniform parrot green with a yellower gloss, the quills and tail tinged buff-yellow. The white front passes into a turquoise-blue band over each eye, with the usual black eye and ear stripe, a rufous patch half down the throat, green underparts brighter than the back, and lanceolate middle tail-feathers projecting some two inches, the whole about ten and a half inches.
