Brushed-Tailed Hypsiprymnus
Hypsiprymnus penicillatus
A kangaroo rat with a short head, short rounded ears, and a tail nearly as long as head and body ending in a brownish black tuft, the long, tolerably soft fur palish brown pencilled with white above and dirty white beneath. A faint cream tint marks the cheeks and sides, the ears bright rust toward the inner margin, the head and body about fourteen inches, and it is common throughout New South Wales and also found at Adelaide.
