Taguan Petaurus, or Flying Opossum

Ptaurus Taguanoides

A large gliding marsupial with a short head, large ears wholly furred externally, and a cylindrical tail longer than head and body, the immensely long soft fur brownish black above and impure white beneath, the flank membrane grizzled and reaching from elbow to the hind thumb. White fringes the lower ear margin, the head and body about twenty inches, and it inhabits New South Wales and varies much, some specimens being wholly white.
