Squirrel-Like Petaurus

Petaurus sciureus

A squirrel like gliding marsupial with moderate nearly naked ears and a tail about as long as the body and broadened by long soft fur, ashy grey above with a blackish line from muzzle to tail and a black flank membrane fringed with white. The under parts are white, the muzzle dusky, the eye surrounded with black, the head and body about eight and a half inches, and it inhabits New South Wales, where colonists call it the Sugar Squirrel.
