Mauge’s Dasyurus

Dasyurus Maugei

A spotted marsupial about the size of a rabbit, with long, loose, soft, slightly woolly fur of yellow grey pencilled with black above and yellowish white beneath, bearing numerous large white spots over the body. The tail is short, bushy, and unspotted, paler than the body and whitish at the tip, with a large white spot behind each flesh coloured naked ear, the head and body about twelve inches, and it inhabits Van Diemen’s Land and New South Wales.
