Hepialus Lignivorus & Zeuzera Minea

1. & 2 & 3. Hepialus Lignivorus. A highly ornamental swift moth, the fore wings brilliant yellowish-green divided by a faint ferruginous waved band and marked with scarlet points, the posterior wings reddish flesh-colour tinged with blue at the base. Its larva bores a chamber in the stem of a she-oak, feeding on bark and sappy wood while disguising its work with a strong web of gnawed fragments; it remains a pupa about twenty-five days, the moth emerging in February.
4. Zeuzera Minea. A splendid moth from Bengal and Batavia with a body of fine cyaneous blue and pale orange wings marked with cyaneous, the anterior pair with costal patches, a transverse basal bar, a broad longitudinal bar, and rows of circular and oblong marks. The hind wings are almost entirely covered by a very broad central blue mark with several marginal spots; the wings expand from three to four inches.
