Longicornes

1. Prionus corti­cinus. Rather depressed, the head and antennae brown with a deep furrow between the eyes and a dense hair tuft covering the mandible bases, the brown thorax bearing central tubercles and lateral spines, the longest near the hinder angle. The elongate brown elytra are of nearly equal width throughout with a small apical spine each, the under side and legs brown; it is a native of Cayenne.
2. Lophono­cerus barbi­cornis. Distinguished by tufts of hair on several intermediate antennal joints, the five lowest joints thickly clothed with black hairs while the joint tips and the six naked outer ones are yellow. The head and thorax are yellow, the thorax with black spots on its spined and tubercled sides, the elytra variegated with black and reddish yellow, the abdomen middle and legs yellow; it is a native of Cayenne.
