Longicornes
- Lamia ornata. The head golden yellow glossed with green about the eyes and bearing two black lines in front, the thorax of the same colour with two narrow black cross bands and a green hinder margin. The yellow elytra are marked with regular black patches surrounded with green, the suture and hinder extremity green, the abdomen middle and legs glossed with green; it is said to be a native of Africa.
- Lamia formosa. The head black with a rust-red front, the thorax black with a large red spot on each side, the elytra likewise black with two broad red bands interrupted at the suture and a few white punctures toward the rear, the hinder extremity itself red. The legs are black, spotted with white at the base.
- Desmocerus cyaneus. Dark blue and somewhat shining, roughly punctured and pubescent, the head grooved lengthwise with a similar central impression on the thorax, the latter shaped like a truncated cone with very acute, almost spinous, hinder angles. The anterior half of the elytra is yellow and the rest dark blue with violet reflections, the under parts and legs dark blue; it is said to inhabit India and other eastern countries of Asia.
- Lamia tricincta. About an inch and a half long, the antennae steel-blue with dense hair tufts on the third, fourth, and fifth joints, the head and thorax clothed with short brassy-green or bluish hairs, the thorax bearing two small tubercles on each side. The elytra are similarly coloured, thickly punctured, with three remote velvety black bands of soft hair, the under side and lower thighs covered with deep red hairs; lately procured in numbers from Java.
