Riding

Leads are said to ride when one end projects over another. This will occasionally take place when two or more leads are used in the same measure. It ought to be guarded against, and when it happens it prevents the page lifting; or if, by tightening the quoins, the forme is made to rise, it causes the lines to be crooked.
