Globicephalus Whale
Globicphalus Rissii
Known chiefly from its outward figure, this whale has a spiracle set far back, a large mouth lined within by soft tubercles, a very small oval eye with golden iris, and in the example five large, conical, somewhat curved teeth on each upper side only. Its account and drawing came from Nice in 1811, and it remains one of only two ascertained species of the genus.
