Rufous-Necked Falcon

Falco ruficollis

Among the smallest and most elegant of falcons, rivalling the little American sparrow falcon in beauty, with rich rufous crown and neck, a black stripe curving round the ear and a moustache beneath the eye. The upper plumage is dark cinereous banded with blackish, the throat and breast creamy white, the under parts barred upon white, with bright yellow cere and feet, the whole about ten inches long.
