Orange-Breasted Bush-Shrike

Malaconotus chrysagaster

A beautiful and very rare little shrike of Senegal, conspicuous for the golden yellow of its under parts and the rich orange of its breast, with short rounded wings showing it does not pursue prey like the true shrikes. The forehead is yellow, extending in a stripe over each brow, the front and middle back clear slate, the rest of the upper plumage bright yellowish-olive, the bill and claws black.
