Cethosia Dido

Expanding about four inches, the ground colour black variously interrupted with green stripes and patches; the forewings bear a longitudinal green stripe and a transverse series of large green spots, the hindwings two green bands, one broad and basal, the other of orbicular spots. Beneath the ground is blackish-brown with the green parts edged pearl-white and a row of white lunules along the margin; the body is blackish, and it is found in Brazil and Guiana.
