Yellow-Crowned Weaver

Ploceus flaviceps

A weaver known from a single Senegal specimen, somewhat larger than the related textor though smaller-billed, with the upper head pure yellow tinged olive on the nape. The neck, back and rump feathers are black tipped with olive-yellow spots, a black patch covering ears, lores and chin contracts into a slender line down the throat to beyond the breast, the rest of the underparts fine yellow, the bill black and legs pale, some six and a half inches.
