Rose Coloured Pastor

Pastor roseus

The Rose-Coloured Pastor is a rare and beautiful straggler from warmer climes, visiting southern Europe more regularly, often found associated with Starlings whose habits it resembles, feeding gregariously on insects and breeding in holes of trees and walls. The male has a full crest of long silky feathers, with head, neck, throat, and upper back deep black glossed purple and green, and the middle back, rump, and lower parts a delicate rose red.
