Golden-Breasted Tragopan (Female)

Tragopan Hastingii

About the same size as the Horned Tragopan, this beautiful Himalayan species has bluish-purple horns and wattles, a crest of pure black hairy feathers, and neck and shoulders of deep purplish-red. The upper parts are deep wood-brown, each feather with a white ocellated spot ringed in black, while below the wattles a patch of brilliant golden-orange spreads over the black underparts; the female is dull umber-brown with dark bars.
