Javanese Peacock
Pavo muticus
Nearly the size of the common peacock but of more subdued brilliancy, this species is marked by a crest of lengthened webbed feathers of equal breadth and a gamboge-yellow skin about the eyes. Head, neck, and breast are greenish with golden reflections, the lower parts dull greenish brown and the train less ample; it inhabits Java, Sumatra, and India, attaining full plumage at the third moult.
