Making up furniture

Dressing a chase with suitable furniture, side and footsticks, so that a proper margin will be given to the work when printed. This duty falls to the lot of the Quoin-drawer Overseer during the first portion of the work; but if the same set of furniture is used over again for the same or a similar work, the compositor transfers it from one set of pages to another without extra charge—See Making Margin.
