Matter which is reserved from one edition of a work to be used partly or wholly in another. Many advertisements, for instance, ordered for a certain number of insertions in a periodical or newspaper, are not distributed, bat are used over and over again, till the order is exhausted, and are called “Standing Advertisements.”
