Tufted-Necked Humming-Bird (Male)

Trochilus ornatus

One of the singular crested tribe called the Coquets, this bird wears an ample crest of clear reddish chestnut and tufts of narrow neck feathers tipped with shining green. Its throat is bright emerald, the upper parts bronzed green with steel-blue reflections, and the broad tail deep chestnut red; it is most abundant in Cayenne, Guiana, and Brasil.
