Bubalis

Acrontus bubalis

A large heavy animal equalling a stag but of inferior speed, entirely yellowish dun, whiter beneath and inside the legs, with a black tail and a cow-like form that earns it the Arab name of wild cow. Inhabiting the north of Africa in small troops, it carries horns directed backwards, used by lowering the forehead between the fore legs to wait or rush at an enemy and then suddenly raise the head, inflicting large torn wounds.
