Two-Horned Sumatran Rhinoceros

Rhinoceros Sumatranus

This Sumatran rhinoceros is shaped much like a hog, of a brownish ash colour passing to dirty flesh beneath the belly and folds, its rough skin barely one-third of an inch thick and thinly covered with short black hair. It bears two black horns, the larger about nine inches above the nose and bent slightly back, the smaller four inches above the eyes, with small pointed ears, a thick neck, and a bulky round body, inhabiting Sumatra.
