Soosoo of the Ganges

Soosoo Gangeticus

A long slender beaked dolphin with no dorsal fin save a projecting angle, a long strong beak, exceedingly minute eyes and a hundred and twenty interlocking teeth, shining pearly grey with lighter spots in age. Found in great numbers up the Ganges and most in the slow creeks of the delta, it moves with great velocity when pursuing fish, feeding on fish though its flesh is never eaten.
