Senegal Courier

Tachydromus Senegalensis

A courier peculiar to Senegal, long confused with related species, with the front and upper head uniform rufous and a brighter band of the same across the body blending into the fawn breast and throat, the rufous ending in a lengthened black central spot. The belly and under tail-covers are pure white, the greater quills deep black, the chin white, and a double nuchal collar of white above and black below adorns the neck, some seven and a half inches.
