Corsac Dog-Fox

Cynalopex corsac

The Corsac dog-fox, ranked among the diurnal canines, is little more than one foot nine inches from nose to tail and stands near twelve inches high, with a sharp head, open pointed ears, yellowish-grey upper parts from annulated hairs, deeper buff limbs, and a black-tipped tail with a blackish basal spot. Living in large communities, it burrows, prowls in packs, feeds on birds and eggs, and inhabits the deserts of Tartary, said never to drink.
