White-Barred Aguara Fox

Cerdocyon mesoleucus

The white-barred aguara fox measured twenty-eight inches long, standing high on slender legs with small feet, perfectly tame and good-tempered when kept four years near Plymouth, with a circular pupil and no offensive odour. Reddish buff about the nose, ears, and legs, blackish grey along the back and broken by white bars on the neck, behind the shoulders, and across the tail root, it carries a grey brush black toward the end.
