Naked Hyæna of the Deserts of Nubia

Hyæna vulgaris

The naked hyaena of the deserts of Nubia is a small, gaunt race entirely destitute of hair, save for the mane along the ridge of the neck and back. Its bare skin is a purplish black, the body short, and the tip of the tail furnished with a small brush.
