Bridled Guillemot

Uria lacrymans

A closely allied guillemot with a weaker, more slender bill, the head and neck dark olive-brown intermediate in shade, the eye ringed with white prolonged in a narrow line behind, the upper parts dark greyish brown and the under parts white. Very local, it breeds among the common and Brunnich’s guillemots yet only with its own kind, found chiefly in Iceland and recorded breeding on the coast of Wales and taken in Yorkshire and Durham.
