Armed Enoplossus

Enoplossus armatus

So deep as to be nearly as tall as long, this fish resembles a Chaetodon in form, with dark banded markings and lengthened fin rays, yet its teeth, bare fin bases, and internal structure mark it a percoid. The ground shade is a silvery grey, palest on the belly and relieved by eight narrow black bands encircling the body, the fins yellowish save the blackish ventrals, and it reaches only eight or ten inches in the New Holland seas.
