European Ibex
Capra Ibex
Standing two feet six to two feet ten inches high, the European ibex changes coat with the seasons, reddish brown in summer and greyish brown in winter, the legs and belly always whitish. Its large horns rise from the skull crest, bending backwards, flat and ringed with strong rugged cross bands, and it frequents the highest ranges near perpetual snow in the Pyrenees, Alps and Spanish mountains, being extremely watchful and difficult of approach.
