Festive Parrot

Psittacus festivus

A typical American parrot of Guiana, Cayenne, and the Brazils, frequenting forests for seeds and kernels, measuring between 15 and 16 inches, docile and easily taught to speak clearly. The bill is pale flesh-colour and toothed, with a deep red frontal band and eye-streak, pale azure-blue above the eyes, vermilion lower back and rump, blue-webbed quills, green body, and a short even tail.
