Horned Sapajou

Cebus fatuellus

Given French Guiana as its native country, this Sapajou is among the largest of its family, very deep purplish or brownish-black above, nearly black on head and shoulders, with dark purple skin on the naked parts. Its grotesque head is crowned by erect front hair curving in a crescent that, viewed in front, gives the appearance of two horns, the tips of these and the cheek hairs of a paler shade.
