Senegal Thous

Thous Senegalensis

The Senegal Thous stands an inch higher and several inches longer than the Nubian kind, with larger ears, a more dog-like head, higher tarsi, a shorter tail, and a gaunt croup-elevated form making it very fleet. The nose and forehead are greyish buff, the underparts white, the back crossed by cloudy wavy bars on each side, and the tail dark sepia brown; it resides with the jackal on the uplands of Gambia and Senegal.
