Hoary Aguara Dog

Dusicyon canesens

The hoary aguara dog, seen domesticated among the Indians but wild to the southward, measured about two feet eight inches long and stood fifteen or sixteen inches high, with a sharp black muzzle, large warts and bristles on the cheeks, small pointed hairy ears, and a wolf-like physiognomy. Covered in loose coarse hair, whitish with sandy clouds and black-tipped on the back, it has pale fulvous legs and a scantily haired tail, black above and whitish beneath.
