Falkland Island Aguara Dog

The Falkland Island aguara dog is full three feet long with a thirteen-inch tail and stands fifteen inches high, of bulky body, low legs, and wolf-like head, the upper colour of hairs ringed black and fulvous with dark tan, the belly pale whitish buff, and the tail brown in the middle with a white tip. Confined to the western Falkland Island, it resides in burrows along the sea downs, has a feeble barking, and feeds chiefly on birds.
