Dalmatian, or Coach-Dog
The Dalmatian or coach-dog, judged by structure to belong with the hounds, is a very handsome variety of elegant form and beautiful markings, yet said to lack nose and sagacity and so kept in stables to familiarise with horses. It may derive from a specimen brought from India bearing white fur marked with small black spots, small half-dejected ears, and a greyhound-like form.
