Nectarinia Goalpariensis

A species from Nipaul, about five inches four-tenths with the long tail-feathers exceeding the rest, the crown golden-green, the nape and back deep carmine red and the cheeks, throat and breast a dazzling scarlet relieved by violet-purple moustaches. The rump is banded pale king’s-yellow concealable by lengthened oil-green feathers, the wings umber-brown edged with oil-green and the central tail-feathers deep green and elongated; not uncommon and wide-ranging, it nests pendulously and feeds on larvae, spiders, ants and minute insects.
