Eboe Sun-Bird

Nectarinia Eboensis

A remarkable species from near Eboe, the male about four inches eight-tenths, ranging with the dark-plumaged kinds but distinguished by the throat and breast being dull straw-yellow against the otherwise dark plumage. The upper parts are uniform yellowish umber-brown, the coronal patch deep green, the chin velvet-black bordered by a green maxillary stripe, the neck and upper breast straw-yellow edged with umber-brown, the lower breast and sides pale chestnut-brown; the female is dark hair-brown above and pale yellowish grey beneath.
