Varied Lorikeet

Trichoglossus versicolor

A lovely species lately discovered in New Holland, nearly allied to Swainson’s Lorikeet in form and aspect, and aptly named for the greatly varied and brilliantly contrasted tints composing its plumage. It possesses all the typical characters of the group, but no information has been gathered respecting its peculiar habits in the wild or natural state.
