Orange-Winged Lorikeet
Trichoglossus pyrrhopterus
A small lorikeet of the Sandwich Islands, not more than seven and a half inches long, lively, active, and familiar, devotedly attached in pairs like the Love Birds and uttering only a sparrow-like chirrup. The bill is pale and pink-tinged, the crown delicate greenish-blue, the neck and throat greyish-white, and the body green save for rich orpiment-orange under wing-coverts, with pale flesh-coloured feet.
