Cuvier’s Thick-Bill

Pachyrynchus Cuvierii

The most elegant and only brightly coloured species of its division, no larger than a sparrow, the male bearing a glossy black crown edged with a white frontal line, delicate cinereous neck, bright olive or yellowish green upper plumage, and white under parts crossed by a broad band on the breast. The female resembles him but has a green crown, a yellow eye ring, and a bright rufous spot on the carpal wing covers.
